Kiera Cass

Ever have one of those days where you're just tootling about, doing your normal business (in my case I was about to start keying payroll), and you come across something that stops you in your tracks and totally kills any productivity that might have been in the plans for the day?

I have!

Back in the day (Dane Cook says that's a Wednesday), I was asked to review a self-published book, The Siren, by Kiera Cass.  The cover and premise looked cool so I said sure.  I'll be honest, it took me a while to actually read the book because it was self-published and I'd been burned by these before.  Once I picked it up and decided to take the plunge, however, I fell in love with this book.  This is one of those stories that even now, years later, still has stayed with me.  I can remember the feel of the book and the emotions that it pulled out of me.  I remember thinking, "Wow, this is one talented author," and, "What a unique story!"

But I digress.  What was this wondrous thing that stopped me in my tracks today?  I received an email from Amazon stating that Kiera Cass had a new book out.

"What?!"

"Really?  But I haven't heard anything from her since the release of The Siren."

Well apparently Ms. Cass has been under my radar and found herself an agent.  She has a new book set to be released from HarperTeen, April 24, 2012!
