The Nine Paths to Chloe King, Path 5 #NinePaths

Whoa - just in time!

If you've been following along, you'll know that we, along with a handful of other bloggers and anyone else who wants to participate, are members of The Circle of Strangers.  Prophecy states that the Circle will help the Mai (a race of cat-like warriors dating back to ancient Egyptian times) find The Uniter.  There is a war going on between select humans and the Mai.  To make matters worse, some Mai don't really have peace in mind and would like to destroy the humans as much as The Order wishes to destroy the Mai.

We can't let this happen!

The Circle has been asked to follow nine paths.  At the end of these nine paths we will hopefully find The Uniter and be able to stop the massive amount of bloodshed that is likely to happen if something isn't done to stop the fighting.

Our first path introduced us to Smila, Ukraine, a city with an ancient history.  Named after a courageous young girl that helped to protect her people, this town holds much mystery.

The second path introduced us to Bastet, from whom the Mai were created.  We learned about this ancient Egyptian goddess, her Sekhmet counterpart, and her followers.  Our knowledge of Bastet helped us to understand a bit about Mai history.

As we waited for the third path to reveal itself, many of us received a mysterious box; mine was left sitting on my doorstep.  Inside the box was a small silver Bastet charm, much like the one that can be found in The Nine Lives of Chloe King books.  Along with Bastet, we were given an old piece of paper with a message written in ancient Mai.  Upon decoding this message we learned that The Uniter we are seeking is Chloe King.

While still reeling from this news (Chloe King is only a 16-year-old girl), we received a message and our fourth path telling us to go back to the box that started our journey and look inside for a clue.  Within the box was a baby girl's pink bib with the symbol of "trust" on the tag.  We searched online for the maker of the bib and were led to KiddieBibs.com.  When we used "trust" as the password, we were shown a clip of Chloe and learned that Chloe is in grave danger.

It wasn't a day later that we received a message about the next path.  @Batko614 on Twitter is looking for Chloe and, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really get good vibes from him.  We were asked to lead him away from Chloe.  He tried hard and his trickery was pretty slick, but it looks like we may have succeeded.  Although the danger isn't entirely past yet, we see that Chloe is a bit more relaxed.

Thank you to all of those who helped us lead @Batko614 away.  We worked on Twitter as @Cinnleigh and with your help were able to misdirect @Batko614 quite efficiently (and quite hilariously at times as well).

Only time will tell what the sixth path has in store for us.  I have a feeling that Chloe's small bit of relaxation is short lived.  I don't think we're out of the woods just yet.

ABC Family's The Nine Lives of Chloe King will premier June 14th, 2011.  This series is based on the book series of the same name by Liz Braswell.  You can view an interview we did with Liz, or take a look at our reviews of the first two books, The Fallen, or The Stolen.

So I guess I'm clueless because I really didn't know this series was based on a book series. Feeling like an idiot now, I've been watching the promos for the show on the ABC family website and getting really excited to watch. Now I'm going to have to go find the books because they're probably even more exciting.

Jenn - I didn't either until I read up on it a bit (ha - pun and I didn't mean to).

While the previews look awesome - the books were really good. I'm excited to see how the two mesh.
