From Goodreads:
Now comes Changeling-again featuring Camille, the good witch, Menolly, the vampire, and Delilah, a feline shapeshifter. They're the D'Artigo sisters, half-human, half-Faerie supernatural agents who are now enlisted to find the fiends responsible for slaughtering the weres of Rainier Puma Pride.
My thoughts:
In short - great book. Yasmine Galenorn hooked me with Witchling and continues to hold me in her firm little grasp with CHANGELING. What makes this story so good? It's difficult to put my finger on. It could be Ms. Galenorn's ability to pull the reader into the story with her vivid imagery. It could be her great characters and the developed personalities each has. It could even be the action and drama that she fills the pages of each book with. Let's see - which is it?
If I had to pick one of the above, I would say that it is the characters that make this story and the other stories of Ms. Galenorn's that I have read so compelling. She really is an unapologetic writer and will put her characters in scenarios and situations that many others wouldn't dare. Her writing is realistic, even for a paranormal story. Her characters really become real people, with real issues, and real actions. Sexuality in her books is pretty open and discussed freely. With me being a fairly shy individual, you'd think that I would have a hard time with this aspect of her characters. Rather, I find it quite refreshing. The sexuality that she surrounds her characters with is light and has never made me feel shy or embarrassed when reading in public.
It's hard to say much about the story within CHANGELING without giving too much away from Witchling. I'll leave you with this, however. Be prepared for a decent amount of action and a lot of anticipation. This is the kind of story that keeps you antsy and tapping your finger on the edge of the counter in a flurry of tension and "I-must-know-what's-going-to-happen" until your significant other throws something at you.
